The
farthest labor |
|
The Japanese aggression army had not only sent the Chinese
labors to Japan, but also sent them to other occupied areas. The
Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japan Memorial found
the survivor of the Chinese labors who had been impressed to Papua
New Guinea for the first time, when they investigate the labors. |

In
Aug 1943, Shi Fangzhou was captured by Japanese army together with
the total 120 people in Shengze Town, Wujiang County, Jiangsu
Province. Then, over 1,500 labors captured by Japanese army
including Shi were sent under escort to Papua
New
Guinea to work as coolie. When Japan surrendered, only about 700
labors survived. In 1947, under the help of International RedCross,
Shi and other survivals came back to Guangzhou. Among the labors
from Shengze Town, only Shi survived to come back to homeland. The
